There is More | Purpose

In our daily lives, it’s hard to find the passion and zeal to understand how so many small things have an eternal purpose. Often times, you may find yourself asking the question, “what is the point?” “Does any of this actually matter?”

So, what exactly is your purpose?

Although each of our relationships with Jesus are different, we can lean on the overarching purpose to bring glory to God. I think the first step to putting this into practice is changing our perspective.

In Colossians 3:1-2 it says, “If then you are raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God. Set your mind on things that are above, not of things that are on the earth.”

We are called to set our minds on things above and seek the Lord. In everyone’s life there will be a time where we will feel without purpose and many of our actions will seem meaningless in our own lives and the lives of others. These are the moments in which we should seek the purpose that the Lord has for us. Seeking earnestly for guidance and eyes to be able to see what God has for us in every situation. Whenever you feel frustrated or discouraged, think about the truth of the situation. Ask for God to give you His eyes to see the situation how He would see it.

Even through searching, there will be many times that we still may not be able to see or understand what God has for us. In these moments there are promises that we can stand on. We know that God is faithful. We know that God loves us. We know that God is in control. We know God is for us.

Trusting these promises and fighting to see the purpose in every action will not only give a glimpse into the beautiful life that the Lord has for you but will allow for growth in your relationship with Christ.
