Closer than We Know

Sin can feel like a strong word. It is weighty, for sure. However, I think sometimes I misinterpret the actual meaning of sin and what it does to the simplicity of us getting to love the spirit of God with our whole selves. Maybe a better description of sin is simply anything that doesn't allow myself to walk in the fullness that God has for me. If you think about it, sin is the essence of anything that keeps us from fully believing and experiencing our royalty, love, and power with Him.

He can take it. Whatever it may be.

However, I continually have to come to an awareness that there is something blinding me or maybe chaining me inside of a cage that was never my home. I don't have to choose to live in the cage or grow accustomed to it's environment, but I have to realize and dare to believe that there is freedom on the other side.

I can speak it confidently that I am meant for the skies. I am meant for the hills. I am created for the depths of God where I experience the array of His emotions and His movements. The key is inside of me. It always has been. So with humbling myself and becoming aware of areas in my life that I am choosing in replacement of freedom, I can actually turn the lock and experience His best for my life.

The key is actually inside each person that has the holy spirit and each one can unlock the bolt.
If you desire to unlock the bolt, but you don't even know where to begin, I have experienced most that the key lies within repentance and rest.

Isaiah 30:15 proclaims, Lord Yahweh, the Holy One of Israel, says: "Come back to me! By returning and resting in me you will be saved. In quietness and trust you will be made strong."

Come back to Him. If there is anything that is not of " joy that overflows, peace that subdues, patience that endures,

Kindness in action, a life full of virtue, faith that prevails, gentleness of heart, and strength of spirit (Galatians 5: 22-23)," then you can come to Him and simply say, "I'm sorry." He made it that easy for you. Repentance is a gift to you, not a mandate ordered by a judge. He sits with you, cradles your face and breathes His love over your spirit and your life.

I once listened to a sermon that repeated these words over and over again:

"It's because He loves you. It's because He loves you. It's because He loves you."

 It's really just that simple.

Believe me, the pressure is off.

So, test the spirits that entice. Ask the Lord to help awareness of inner thoughts.  Ask for the wisdom and discernment to know what voice is speaking. His conviction is Him leading you to a quiet place and looking at you with grace. He says, "Hey, come back to me."

2 Timothy 1:7 proclaims that He didn't give you the spirit of fear, but he has given you mighty power, love, and self-control. Verse 8 tells you to never be ashamed by His testimony of healing in your life and never be embarrassed by imprisonment, but you will overcome evil by the power of God!!!!

It's not because of any good you have done or bad you have done. It is by His pleasure and marvelous grace that He over and over again claims you to commune with Him forever (verse 9).

Yes, there is rest in knowing Him. There is power to overcome by being a daughter or a son. It is done by the Spirit.  Never give up on the Spirit inside. Believe in the unbelievable. Become a child and cry out to Abba, Father.

As you say that we are sorry, He replaces your garments of heaviness with oils of joy. He will remind you of who you are. And you will overcome.

His voice will do it. Slow down and let Him speak about the deep treasures of testimony and the deep treasures of His spirit within. You are created to experience the touch and beauty of His spirit.

He whispers, "I'm closer than you know.'"

Don’t' worry, He will warn you ahead of time. He will give you peace. He will speak life. He move your direction and ignite your dreams. Just give Him the availability. Give Him the simplicity of your spirit and His spirit intertwining. You will have an eagle-like view of what is now and what is to come.

No more running. Rest. Just rest.
