Thanksgiving

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 — “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

James 1:17 — “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the Heavenly lights.”
Thanksgiving is finally here! Hooray!

So many of us have been looking forward to this week of rest for months now. To get the most out of this break, it’s nice to reflect on all you have to be thankful for. God says to rejoice and give thanks in all circumstances. What better time to do this than a day dedicated to gratitude?

There are many things in life that can tear you down, but often times a shift in perspective can be the greatest weapon against them. Instead of focusing on the negative, challenge yourself to see the good in life, and express your thankfulness to God.

Let us not take for granted the abundant blessings, big and small, that God has given us by becoming distracted with what we don’t have.

Here are some examples of what I’m especially thankful for this season...

Friends, family, coffee, soft blankets, sunsets, mountains, cold weather, changing leaves, fuzzy socks, and obviously Thanksgiving food!
